Information About The FY 08 Military Pay Chart
In 2008, President George W. Bush signed the Defense Authorization Act. This act was unanimously approved across the board in approval of a rather significant pay increase to those in a military service position from all armed forces including the national reserve. The approved increase was a pleasing 3.5%, making it .5% higher than President George W. Bush requested. When Congress heard President Bush’s proposal, they were all in agreement that this increase was not quite enough and increased his request by 0.5 percent. This increase is a direct sign of the appreciation the citizens of the United States have towards those fighting to protect our country. Under previous laws (before the Defense Authorization Act was approved), those servicemen who have continued to be enlisted in the armed forces for longer than 26 years did not receive any longevity pay raises. This hardly seems fair considering the amount of time, energy and dedication these military personnel have devoted to the armed forces for their entire career. With the introduction of the Defense Authorization Act, those persons who have devoted up to 40 years of military service to the United States will continue to receive significant raises in appreciation of their dedication to our great nation.
The FY 08 military pay chart is not difficult to follow. There is absolutely no favoritism or politics shown on this graph. What you see is what you get. If you have received a decent rank in office, you will receive a higher pay than those who possibly have been enlisted in the military for a longer period of time, but has not been awarded a bigger rank than you. The military gives its just cause to those who truly earn it, and that is no more apparent than on the military pay chart. Even those who have dedicated an entire career in the military but have not earned the respect to be moved up to a higher ranking may not earn as large of a salary as someone who may be been in the military for only half as long as they have.
