Find The Military Pay Chart At The DFAS

If you are currently enlisted in the armed forces, or are considering joining the military but are not sure of the financial benefits you will receive, you can find all of the information you need at the Department Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS). The Military pay chart from DFAS is a very easy to follow graph that takes the amount of years you have put into the military and lines it up against the rank that you currently have in service to come up with your due pay. You will find that the pay from the beginning of your military service is not very intriguing, but looking down the line after serving more years and moving up in rank, your salary will greatly increase leading you to making a generous living.

From the moment you begin boot camp as a member of the army, navy, air force or marines, you will receive this monthly stipend. Along with free room and board and meals (albeit from the barracks and mess hall), this salary may seem well worth it. When you enter the military, you are considered nothing more than a “Private” in ranking which puts you the lowest man/woman on the totem pole, thus earning the smallest amount of pay. Generally, a private with less than one year of military service will receive $1275/month in salary. Once you have completed certain tasks (boot camp, tests, etc.), your superior officers will change your rank, which moves you up the totem pole, which in turn increases your monthly stipend.

After graduating from boot camp and being told where you will be next assigned within the military, you will also be given your new ranking (if you have earned this right, that is). With every new ranking you earn from the military pay chart from DFAS, combined with every passing year you are enlisted in the armed forces, your monthly salary will increase. These increases may be very gradual, or if a promotion in ranking is large enough, your salary will greatly increase. All arms of the military work on the ethical assumption that if you devote your time and energy into doing your work well, you will be justly rewarded for it. Do your job halfway and it will show in your lack of promotions.
